New Tent.

Kyler got a new tent for Christmas from his Aunt Kimmy. He really likes it. Its pretty small as you will see. I would guess it's only about a 3 foot square. Just right for him... but not for the whole family. Last night it was so funny. I got in. Took me a min to get all the way in, turned around and set down... pretty tight. Then in he came. He thought that was pretty need having mom in the tent with him. We had not toys or anything. Just set in there. I was ready to get out but when I tried he would wine and pull on me. He didn't want me to leave. Then Dad tried to get in... I said tried because he could really only get his head poked in. Kyler did not want Daddy in the tent with us. He would once again do his little wine/grunt and push on Sheldon's head.... like "get out dad." It was pretty funny. He did let Lilly in for just a little big. She was not to impressed.

A few pictures...

Here is Kyler riding his new John Deere Tractor Grandma Shony and Grandpa Terry got for him and Kolby.
And of course.... CHEESE!!!
This is his new slide. He loves it. I need to find somewhere to keep it. Right now its in the middle of my living room floor. Along with many other toys. I did box up a big box of toys today thought.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We didn't have much going one. Kind of nice just hanging out at home. I hope to get more pictures downloaded to my computer and posted later. I just thought I needed to get a couple on here so I thought I would start with these.
Good Night.

Hello Weekend... Hello Ice.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I wanted to get on here and wish everyone a Merry Christmas ... but where does the time go. We had a house full Christmas Eve through yesterday. All my family was over. Which was nice since we didn't have to get out. Then my sister and I went to St Joe shopping yesterday morning.. you know I'm a sucker for deals.

Kyler loved opening presents... and I promise to put pictures on here of him doing so. He got WAY to many toys. I don't know where I am going to put them all. Some of his bigger things he got included... Tricycle, picnic table, remote control car (which daddy has already ran the batteries down on), vacuum, little tykes slide, black and Decker tool bench, portable dvd player, colors and coloring book, view master, and the list goes on and on.

We did Christmas at the Scadden's Wed night. Kyler and his cousin Kolby were to funny. Kolby was not sure what to think about opening presents but big Cousin Kyler showed him how. Then Grandma and Grandpa got the boys a big John Deere tractor with wagon. They thought that was to cool. I will have those pictures to post also. They were too funny.

Well I don't know when I will get to post again so Happy New Year is it is after that.

Ice Ice baby!!!

Well we had a big ice storm come in last night. Not as bas as last year but lots of ice anyway. Sheldon did not have to work today because they closed campus down. I unfortunately had to brave the weather.... well not really. Sheldon brought me to work today. We had to drive really slow because it was pretty slick but we made it just fine.

I have a couple funny Kyler stories I wanted to share since this is HIS blog!!

Kyler has always been a bare foot baby. He loves to be bare foot. If you take his shoes off the sock are soon to fallow. But the funny part is he also likes to take your socks off if you have your shoes off. Every night he will take Sheldon's socks off. Then like the good little boy he is he always takes the socks in by the door and puts them in Sheldon's boots. I guess he always sees me take his socks off and stuff them down in his shoes so he things that's where they go. Once again... my neat freak.

The other day I had his lotion out from when we change his diaper or something. I was trying to pick up some stuff so I handed it to my little helper and told him to go put it in the basket. We have a basket under the coffee table that we keep all his diapering supplies in. So he took it and ran in the dinning room. I didn't know what he was doing at first but then I realized. He has a little basketball hoop in there... he wanted to put it in the "basket." How funny!

Well I guess that is about all of the funny stories for today. One more thing though. He loves to read books. But his favorite game is to get a book with lots of pictures and I ask him where this and that is and he points to everything. We play this game a lot. It really amazes me how he knows all of this. But last night he took a book over to Sheldon. I told him how he likes to do this so Sheldon started asking him where stuff was. He was AMAZED!!!

Ok... everyone have a good weekend. We will be traveling back the Kirksville this weekend for lots of Grandma's, Grandpas and Christmas parties. I can't wait to see Kyler get to open his presents. I hope I get lots of good pictures. I didn't get many last year because I was to busy helping him. But I'm sure he will be more independent this year. I will have to post some pictures next week.

Long time.. not blog.

Sorry it has been so long. I have been really busy and my computer has been really slow so I could not get any pictures on here. I did want to post these few pictures though. Here was Kyler's second visit to see santa. Last year thought he was not old enough to know what was going on. This year thought, boy howdy. He was pretty good with him if he had his distance but don't put him on his lap! Here are a few pictures. Finally I just held him beside Santa. Look at his death grip he has on my shirt. Don't mind me either. I was not planning on being in the picture. I had no make up on and my hair pulled back. Yikes.

Poor little guy. I would be scared of him to.
Well I think I have my Christmas shopping pretty much done.I just have a few more things to wrap. I have two big Christmas dinners this weekend back in Kirksville. That will be fun.
Oh yes... Kyler pee peed on the potty again tonight... well not really on the potty but on the floor. He was setting on the potty... how it ended up on the floor is beyond me. We were in the living room when I seen that look on his face... the poo poo face. So I said you got to go potty. He looked at me and ran to the bedroom door ( the bedroom leads to the bathroom). So i went in there. I checked and he had already pooped in his diaper. So I thought what the heck. Maybe he will put two an two together if I set him on there even after has went some. Perhaps something else might come out?? So I set him on there with out making to much of a mess. Then I ran back in the living room to grab a couple wipes. When I came back I noticed there was a puddle on the floor. I thought to myself there was no way he could have done that when I took his diaper off. So I got to looking and there was pee on the toilet seat, his feet and the floor. He somehow shot it up over the toilet seat, missed the rug around the toilet and make a big puddle on the floor. BOYS!!! It must have been like a fire hoes with no one to hold on to the end. So that was number three for the potty. Do you really think he knows. I didn't expect to potty train till at least after his birthday but I really think he knows what he is doing.
Kyler also got his hair cut this weekend. He looks so much like a little boy now. I will have to get some pictures and get them on here.
Well I better go get the rest of my wrapping done.
Ta ta for now.

My new slide show

Ok... I have finally mastered the slide show... well not mastered by any means. But after staying up till about 10:00 last night and a little finagling this morning I got it on here. I wanted to have it on the side and a little smaller but I'm not that smart. So it big and has to be at the top or bottom. So I have put it on the top for now. It may get moved to the bottom after everyone gets a chance to look at it. These are picture of Kyler while he was in the hospital. Kyler was born April 13th, 2007.

I was admitted to St Francis that Wednesday before due to my swelling and blood pressure being so high. I spent the night there and then the next morning during a non- stress test they found that Kyler's heart rate would keep dropping. That is when they decided to transport me to St Luke's in Kansas City. I left Maryville around 1:00 pm. I got to KC around 3 or so... i can't really remember the time as it all started running together. They did some test on me and kept and eye on Kyler also. With my blood pressure so high and Kyler's heart rate still periodical dropping they decided to do an emergency c-section. I remember the dr coming in to give me the options and we decided to do the c-section. I ask how long it would be since we had family out of town who were planning on coming the next morning. Dad and Nancy were on there way but I was not sure when they would be there either. The dr said when we get the OR ready... 20-30 min. WOW. It all happened so fast. He ended up being born on Friday the 13th at 9:56 pm.

I love St Luke's. I did not have to stay in recovery. They brought me strait back to my room so I could be with my family. A couple hours later they wheeled my big ole bed in the NICU to see Kyler. I had only got to see him for just a few seconds before they took him out of the OR. He was so tiny yet so perfect. He came out crying which was a good sign. For those of you who know ABGAR scores. He was a 8 and 9. WOW. He was 9 weeks early, born at 31 weeks 1 day. He weighed in at 2lbs 8 oz and was 15 1/2 inches long.

We spent the next 5 weeks in the NICU. He was on a ventilator for one hour the night he was born but they decided he didn't need it after all and took it off. He had some jaundice and got to be in the blue spot light for a few days. He was also on a C-pap for couple days. This is the thing in his noes in some of the pictures. This just blew air in his noes to help keep the lungs inflated good. Other then that it was just growing and learning to eat. Now that was the challenge. But he came home on May 21st weighting 4 lbs 2 oz.

What an amazing little boy!

Krazy Kyler

Here is a couple funny pictures of Kyler. He loves to try to do somersaults. He can't get all the way over but he will flop over on his side and he thinks he went over. He will stand up and clap. How funny.

We put the tree up last weekend. Well I put the tree up while Kyler was taking his nap. He hasn't really bothered it much. I am very shocked. I loved this picture because he looks like Vanna White showing off his new Christmas tree.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

It happend again

This morning when Kyler work up daddy went and got him. When he got down stairs I was going tot he bathroom and this is where Kyler found me. I then ask if he wanted to go potty. He held his "area" and grunted. So he got his little seat and put it up on the toilet while I took his jammies off. I set him up there and with in 10 seconds he was peeing. YEA!!! He must have been holding it in all night because it just kept coming. At first he pinched it off but then let it loose again. He stopped and started like 5 times. He was smiling from ear to ear. How funny. He is so smart. I'm not going to push to hard but if I can catch him when he wakes up like that and he goes maybe he will get the hang of it. I hope.

Does tomorrow have to be Monday??

Well I have had a nice long vacation from work and don't want to go back tomorrow. I had a lot of fun with Kyler over the last few days. He is so smart and yet so ornery.

We had a good Thanksgiving in Kansas City. We ate a big meal then headed down to the plaza to see the light ceremony. I'm proud to say I have done it and glad to say I will probably never do it again. We did however pick the best year to do it weather wise. We got there about 45 minutes early and I didn't really even get cold till we were about ready to leave. Kyler did really well but when David Cook (very disappointed he did not even sing a song!!!) flipped the switch to turn the lights on they started a big fireworks show that scared Kyler. I don't know why he was so scared, most of them didn't even make a noise. He has always been scared of fire works. Not sure why.

Then the shopping spree... Well Rachel and I headed to Micheal's Thursday night to start off my shopping. Then I got up the next morning at 3:30 am. Yes, very early I know. I hit Kohl's, Toys R Us, Staples, Wal-mart, Gordman's, JoAnn's, Zona Rosa, Cabela's, and Legend's in Kansas City. Then I stopped in St Joe at Menard's, Big Lots, Kmart, Target, and Kohl's once more. I was POOPED!!! I got quite a bit accomplished though. So that is good.

Then the last two days I have not done anything. Just played with Kyler. We went out to eat last night. It was nice to get out of the house. I am trying to think of a good story of something Kyler did today but can't think of anything off the top of my head... I think I am to tired because I know he made me laugh more then once today. Well maybe I can think about it an post something more tomorrow.

Better get to bed so I can be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning.

NEWS FLASH

KYLER PEE PEED ON THE POTTY!!! How exciting. I'm pretty sure it was just an accident but it happened none the less. I didn't know he did it at the time it happened because I was blow drying my hair. Sheldon came in and needed to go to the bathroom so he picked Kyler up and took his little toilet insert off and it was dripping. Yep he did it alright. We clapped and celebrated but I'm not sure Kyler even knew what was going one.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

I know it's a day early but I have not said hi in a while and know I will be busy tomorrow. Today actually feels like Thanksgiving to me though. We are having a Thanksgiving dinner at my house tonight for Sheldon's family. So I have a bird in the oven at this very moment. Cross your figures it turns out good. So with all this going one I used my last Vacation day from work yesterday and have the rest of the week off. YIPPEE!!

Tomorrow it is off to Kansas City to my sisters house for late lunch/early supper. Then we are all heading down to the plaza for the light ceremony. Then my second favorite thing about Thanksgiving after the food is the day after shopping. I have my whole day planned out for shopping on Friday. I can't wait.

Well anyway. Kyler has been a good boy the last couple days...all in all. He went to Grandma Shoney's yesterday for a while so I could do some major cleaning. I got a lot accomplished. So then Grandma came and picked him up again this afternoon to keep him till they come back for the feast tonight. I can get so much more done when he is not fallowing behind me getting out everything I just put up...but I kind of miss the little guy.

Well that's about all for now... nothing to exciting. Happy Turkey day tomorrow and don't eat to much.

Happy Friday!!!

Well not to much to post but just wanted to say Happy Friday to those of you who check my blog each day. Kyler is much better after he got some medicine. I think I only had to wipe his noes one time last night. He was such a good boy last night. A lot of evenings he gets kind of cranky. He played so good.

We had a window that has somewhat of a window seat in it. He has figured out how to climb up there and look out the window. However when he is done he has not quite figured out how to get down... well until last night. Sheldon and I was setting in the living room and Kyler ran in the Dinning room... where this window seat is. He climbed up there and was playing. Then the next thing we knew here comes Kyler running in the living room with this big smile on his face. Sheldon ask him if he got down all by himself. He just smiled as he only will shake his head No when the answer is NO. So then Sheldon and I was clapping telling him good job. So he ran back in there and half way got up then got right back down. He came running in the living room clapping his hands and smiling from ear to ear. He was so proud of himself and wanted us to clap for him. He did this like 5 times more until he got tired.

He was playing so good that at bed time (8:00pm) I just let him keep playing. I would ask him... Kyler are you ready to go to bed... he would just shake his head NO. So about 9:00pm I could tell he was getting pretty sleepy so I took him up to bed. I hate to brag to much because I am always scared I will jinx myself but he has always went to bed really well on his own. I usually just take him upstairs, tell him good night and put him in his bed. Some times he cries but if he does he usually stops by the time I get to the bottom of the stairs. Well last night it was so cute. I turned on his little rain forest crib toy that has lights and plays a little music for just a little while and laid him down. The grabbed his blanky and pulled it up by his face then looked over at me and blew me a kiss. What a ham. He never even made a peep. I turned out the light and he was sound a sleep in no time.

Well ok... that's enough. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Doctor Visit

Just wanted to post a little note here on how the Dr went yesterday. All in all it was good. Said his lungs sounded good but did give us some medicine to help clear up the congestion. Dr visits are actually getting harder and harder the older he gets. He doesn't like the waiting in the waiting room. Of course I don't let him run around and touch everything... who knows what you will pick up in a Dr office. He hated having his ears looked at. I think between me and the Dr it took about 5 min to look at both ears. We were trying to hold him down and he is strong little buger.

And the biggest question. How much did he weigh? Well they only weighed him with all his cloths and shoes on. But he weighed 20 lbs 10 oz. I am guessing he may be close to 20lbs but not over.

Still a little under the weather... but getting better.

Here are some funny pictures of Kyler last night. He is still all snotty and starting coughing. We have an appointment this afternoon to just get everything checked out. I am always scared when he starts coughing of fear that it is going to get to his lungs. Knock on wood he has never had anything other then a snotty noes and sore throat, but since he was a preemie they just have it drilled in your head that he is more prone to lung issues. So just to be safe and for a piece of mind we are going to see the dr this afternoon. I am really more interested in how much he will wight. Poor little guy. He has a 2 1/2 month old cousin, Dayson who wighted in over 13 lbs yesterday. He's only 6 lbs or so behind Kyler. Well anyway I was taking his temperature last night then he through he could do it like a big boy. If you can notice in these pictures he looks like he has snot all over his face.... but that is just some lotion stuff I put on there because his little checks were getting chapped.

Ok... drum roll please. I have posted my first video. I hope everyone can see it. It took FOREVER to download but here it is. He kept saying cheese ans smiling really big for me but when I would go to take a picture with my stupid camera this little orange light comes then like 20 seconds later it takes the pictures. Well he has learned that when this orange light comes on there is going to be a big flash so he turns away. So I just decided to take a sort video clip of him saying cheese since it was so cute.

Little Guy is a Little under the weather.

Hello everyone. I don't have any new pictures from the past couple days. We have not be home a lot. Between a few short trips to Maryville for this and that and all of Dad's hunting preparations!!!

Yes Kyler is not feeling to good. Well actually he acts like he is feeling just fine but he has a snot rocket for a noes, a very low grad temp off and one, and then this morning he woke up and his eyes were kind of red. I don't know what is up with that. I called the dr this morning and ask what they thought but the nurse said it was probably just from his cold or allergies. So we will wait it out over the weekend and if he is not better by Monday I will have to get him an appointment. Other then the eye thing I would think it could be some new teeth coming in. Its high time for a new pearly white. He still only has his 6 teeth that he got pretty near all at once a couple months ago.

Well hope everyone has a good weekend. We will be heading out in the morning for Kirksville... considering Kyler is not any worse. It will be a busy weekend as it always is when we got back home. I will hopefully have a few new pictures when we get pack that I can post.

Later,
Christy

Potty?

So we have been trying the potty thing. I got one of the little seat inserts that just set on your normal toilet. Well he has always had a fascination with the bathroom. So he really likes it now that he knows this is his seat. He has never "done" anything but i don't really expect him to yet. I just think it is good to get him familiar with setting on it and I'm glad he likes to. We let him set on it three times last night. He wanted to more then that. I hate to not set him on it when he wants to but... he would be on it all night long if I let him.

On another note... he said Mama last night. He was in the kitchen and I could hear him... mama mama mama. Then he came in the living room with us and kept saying it. He would never look at me and say it but he knew what he was doing. He use to say it but has not for like 3 months. The little stinker... he knows how to say it he just doesn't it to spite me.

We have a trip planned for this weekend to go back home to Kirksville. That will be fun. Dad will be hunting all weekend so we are flying the coupe. See all you kirksvillian's this weekend.

Our Weekend

Well here was the main event for the day today.... We baked a cake. Kyler once again was a little helper. He loved licking the beaters.

This pictures is my favorite... he is so funny.

He kept dipping the beater back in the batter... little double dipper!!

Well not to much exciting this weekend. Saturday we hung out a little and then Grandma and Grandpa came over. (my dad and step mom, Nancy) We played a while then we had to go to Sheldon's Grandma's surprise 75th birthday party. She was really surprised.

** side story.. when we got ready to leave and was walking to our car.... it was dark and I was carrying a lot. I did not see a sidewalk and crashed and burnt big time. I dropped everything I was carrying including a glass dish. Well the glass dish must have fell faster then I did because it shattered and I landed in it. The palm of my left hand it all cut up. I think there may even be a little glass still in it. I didn't do damage to my jeans thank goodness since It was only like the 3rd time I ware them. But my knees don't look to good today.

Ok back to the weekend. Dad and Nancy kept Kyler Saturday night here at the house for us. THANK YOU GUYS!!! Sheldon and I had to go to another birthday party.
Sunday... well nothing exciting at all today. Sheldon has been gone most of the day since next weekend is opening day of deer season. He is setting up umpteen deer stands. ( and yes umpteen is a word... spell check didn't even mind it.) So Kyler and I have just been playing in the house since it is so cold out. It was like 28 degrees when we got up this morning. So really the cake baking was the highlight of our day.

Funny Socks.

Don't make fun of the pink socks. Kyler like to take his socks off. He also like to take Sheldon and my socks off. Well last night he took my socks off and then he wanted to put them on. These are just above the ankle socks on me. They were thigh highs on him. He looked so funny and he thought he was big stuff. Maybe I can find some clown socks marked down now that Halloween is over.

More pictures..

Here are a few pictures from last week. The weather is so nice. We got to play outside a few evenings. I raked up some leafs and set him in them. He didn't like them at first. After awhile he got to throwing and kicking them around.

" Ok... don't make fun of me because of what My mom makes me wear!!!"
So I had not done Kyler's laundry for over a week and we were out of his pants. The little fart is so skinny and tall. These overalls (6 or9 months mind you) are a little short... and well Dad picked out the shirt. He kind of looked like a clown.

Daddy's Little Helper....

As you can see Kyler is Mr Fix-it. Daddy was putting a vent in behind the bathroom sink so that the pipes could get some heat and not freeze. So Kyler had to be right there helping. He is starting to be a little copy cat. Everything you do he want to do.

Crayola baby....

Mr Kyler has learned to color. Or what we will call color. You have to keep a close eye on him because he will either try to eat the crayon or he will run off and color on everything he is not suppose to.
The weekend...
We have a good weekend. The weather was nice. I had to work Saturday morning, then I got some football tickets from work for the game Saturday afternoon. So Kyler spent the afternoon with Grandma Shoney. Then we had 50th birthday party to go to. Got to see a lot of friends that I had not got to chat with for a while. Out of our group of close friends there has been someone pregnant for almost 3 years now. We have two that we just found out are expecting. So lots of baby talk. Kyler was very tired from his fun filled day at grandma's so his baby sitter took him home to crash... Thanks Sash!! So us girls got to chit chat a little more. Its hard now that we have so many toddlers to chase around.
And for Sunday it was just a lot of hanging out. We got to go for a walk and play out side. Just trying to get use to the time change. With staying up a little late Saturday night Kyler slept in a little on Sunday so he is doing really well with the time change.
Well better end there as this post is getting a little long.
Christy

Happy Halloween!!!

Here is our little turtle!!! We went up town to the trick or treat thing they did... what a mess. There was tons of people, long lines, and crappy candy. I don't think we will do that again. I really wanted to take Kyler through so he could see all the other little kids dressed up. He did like that. He didn't really get scared of any of them but he did see a clown and laughed. The weather was so nice through I can't complain about that. I think we will get all dressed up again tonight and head out again. Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!!

A couple pictures...

We had our pictures taken this weekend. I was not as thrilled as I usually am. I think it is his age. He didn't really cry he just wanted me or Sheldon. So as soon as you set him down he would jump up and run to us. Plus the guy who took the pictures was not helping any. Then he was rushing us when we were trying to pick out what we wanted and I ended up with a lot of pictures I don't really need and spent a lot more money then I wanted to. Plus the best pictures are in the fall setting and that might be kind of weird in a Christmas card. Might have to snap a few shots myself at home or something. Or send out Thanksgiving cards this year instead of Christmas cards. That's an idea.

Tidy Tot

I think we might have a neat freak on our hands. Not last night but the night before we were making potato soup. Sheldon was peeling the potatoes so he pulled the trash can over by the sink and took the lid off so he could just sling the peels in there. Well Mr Kyler realized the trash can was in the wrong place. He took it upon himself to push the trash can all the way back over t0 the corner where we keep it. Then he came back and got the lid and put the lid on. Then he found a potato peel that had missed the can. He held it up to me and said " trash trash"

I told him yes that was trash so he took it over and put it where it belonged... in the trash can. Then he was digging around in the cabinets under the sink. Found the dust pan and little broom. He thought he was hot stuff sweeping the floor.

March of Dimes -Jail and Bail

I need your help. I have a warrant out for my arrest for gawking at the construction workers and working under the influence of caffeine. I will admit... I AM GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!

Yes it is time for the annual March of Dimes Jail and Bail. My bail is set at $300. However last year I took top prize for raising over $500.00. I think I have a little more motivation...his name is Kyler. Kyler was born 9 weeks early and spent the first 5 weeks of his life in the NICU at St Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. He weighed only 2 lbs 8 oz. But thanks to all his Doctors, Nurses and the March of Dimes he is a happy, healthy 18 month old.

I have a web address where you can go to pledge your donation for my Bail...

http://jailandbail.marchofdimes.com/bail4babies

Even a donation as small as $1 would be greatly appreciated. You would be surprised how fast the $1 donations will add up.

Please pass this web site on to anyone you know who would also be willing to donate. If you would prefer to just give me the donation I can take it to Jail with me on Oct 29th. If you prefer not to use the web site and will not see me before Oct 29th just let me know how much you would be willing to donate. I can write you down as a pledge and they will mail you and envelope to send you payment to them.

Thanks for all your help.

Playing with Daddy

Here a few pictures of Kyler playing last night with Daddy. He love playing horsey with Daddy.

Kylers 1st Parade.

Here are a couple pictures from this weekend. Kyler's first parade! He loved the bands and like to dance to them. He would just wave and clap at everything. In that first picture he is actually blowing them kisses. He loves to blow kisses right now.

My very first post

Ok... well I'm new at this so bare with me. I don't really know what to put today but wanted to have atleast one post on my new blog. We had a really good weekend. Sheldon was out of town Saturday night so it was just me and Kyler. We didn't do much. We went to Walmart and took a walk and that was about it. Grandma Nancy and Aunt Rachel spent the night last night. Kyler loved building stuff with his big block with Aunt Rachel. Actually I think he had more fun destroying what Aunt Rachel made to tell ya the truth.

Sheldon and I were out of town last week so Kyler got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa and he loved it. He was very clingy and would not let me leave the room all weekend though. This morning was really hard for him. He was a little extra tired this morning and cried really hard when I leave him at the babysitters.

Well I guess that's all I have to say right now. More to come later.
