5 DAYS and counting...

Holy cow... i really can't keep up with this blog. But I thought I better get on here and post that the date has been set. We are on the count down. Next Tuesday October 5th will be the big day. 10/5/10 @ 10am is our scheduled c section. I can't wait!

I went to the dr this past Tuesday and did not have a full ultrasound, but ask the lady if she could guess how big they were. We made pretty good time on what we needed to look at so she just went ahead and measured them for me. She guessed Rylee at 7lb 7 oz, and Wyatt came out to 6 lb 12 oz, but she thought he could be closer to 7lbs because she could not get a real good view of his abdomen. So yeah... over 14lb of baby in there with a week to go/grow! I am just at the point where i can't wait to see them!

I will try to post some pictures on here after Tuesday.

3lb babies so far!

Hello,

i really am trying to update this more often it just isn't working out that way. The summer has been so busy and has flew by!

We did have a Dr appointment on Tuesday with an ultrasound. Babies are doing great. Both still breach and on opposite sides. Rylee is still on my right, and Wyatt is still on my left. They seem to like it there and have not moved positions yet. Dr did say something about talking them into flipping over, so I ask if it was really that big of a deal knowing we will be delivering by c-section. He said no not really, just more ideal to have them head down. Said there are a few more steps in getting them out sometimes if they are breach. But not a big deal. So i guess if they are happy dancing on my bladder that is what they can do!

Ultrasound also showed that they are both getting hair! Kyler had quite a bit of hair for a preemie so i figure if these babies cook a little longer they might have a head full of hair. Rylee says bring on the hair bows! Both are also estimated to be around 3lbs each. Which is amazing since Kyler was only 2lbs 8 oz at birth. Sheldon likes to point out thought that the ultrasound we had of Kyler just hours before he was born they said he was over 3 lbs also? So who really knows? They are right at in the 50th percentile which is great. Dr said if we continue doing this well and make it to 37-38 weeks we should have a couple 7 lb babies! WOW! Don't get me wrong i would love to have some big healthy babies... just don't know where i am going to store 14lbs of baby in this belly!!! It already feels maxed out!

My blood pressure are still going awesome and weight gain (in my book) is good for what i have been eating! Opps! Sweets? You mean with twice the amount of babies i can't eat twice the amount of chocolate? I feel like i eat a lot but really i don't. I eat often, but just eat like a bird. I just don't have the stomach capacity i use to... and the heartburn, oh the heartburn!

So all in all the dr was good.

I did have two awesome friends throw me a baby shower last weekend also. It was fun having a baby shower BEFORE i had a baby this time! I got lots of great gifts and think i should be set now. Just waiting around for babies. I hope to get some pictures on soon!

Well better get back to business. Hope to be back to post sooner next time.

Wednesday

Hello all,

Had a great day Wednesday! Started off with the dr appointment. They were very backed up as Wednesday is eco-cardiogram ultrasound day! So we did have to wait longer then ever. But might i mention we used the Free Valet parking for the first time. It was nice!

We actually seen the perinatologist this time instead of the nurse practitioner....which i really like her to! But he said everything was going good and answered any questions we had. The only real thing he did was measure my belly. I was 21 weeks 4 days on Wednesday but was measuring 30 weeks already...but what do you expect with having two in there! I was happy to hear I actually only gained 1/2 lb!

Next was on to the ultrasound. Both babies are looking great and right on track for growth. Wyatt is aprox. 1lb 4oz, and Rylee is 1lb 3oz. So very close to the same. Both stayed on the same side...Wyatt is on my left side and Rylee is on my right. They however are both currently in the breach position. Not that big a deal since they will be delivered c section. I totally guessed that to since it sometimes feels like they are trying to kick their way out! Oh and when they tech first put the thing on my belly and was just trying to figure out who was who one of them flashed us the peace sign. It was too funny! We all looked at each other like did you see that?

Then off to dinner and shopping we went. We didn't want to spend to much on a big meal so we decided to hit Tom Fooleries at Zona Rosa. We ate off the lunch menu and was stuffed. We were very happy with our choice. Then we did a little shopping. I again, on a budget didn't want to spend to much money but did find some excellent deals. was happy to find some diaper bags that i loved at Gordman's on clearance for $10 each. I also had a coupon for 20% off one. I also went to a big Hobby Lobby and got a few things i have been looking for for some time. I got Kyler some John Deere signs for his new room...50% off thank you! Then i got some yarn to try and make little baby hats for the twins. I also got some Circle wooden plaks that i have been needing to get to make their names to put on the nursery wall. They were 40% off to. I just need 3 more...they only had 7 in stock.

Then we went to the Royals game. It was very hot at first but then the storm moved in about an hour before game time. I was also very excited that we got seat in the dry duck section...my favorite at $7 each! Also if you set in that section we got a free hat... it was kind of cute to! I will have to post some pictures later. Then like i said the storm came in and dumped a ton of rain and had some wicked thunder and lighting! The game was delayed about an hour and a half so we didn't stay for the whole game... got home around mid night! Was a little tired the next day but not to bad.

Well happy weekend to you all! Hope to post some pictures soon!

sorry

Well its been way to long since my last post and i even missed posting about our last appointment. So for the big news of last months appointment... One boy and one girl!!! Both were doing well and everything checked out on the ultrasound. SO we were very happy about all the good news.

We get to go back this Wednesday for another appointment and ultrasound. Looking forward to that. It really seems like it has been forever since we went last. We have a morning appointment as they were very full this time and we had a hard time picking a day and time that was very confident. So we are going to make the best of it and hit a Royals game that afternoon before heading home. I hope it don't rain and isn't too hot! Might get to do some shopping in between appointment and game. Not that i need to. Two friends of mine and I went down to the Lake of the Ozarks to the outlet mall this past weekend. I was very proud of myself... i went on a budget and didn't do too bad. I got quite a bit of stuff and was just a tiny bit over budget when it was all said and done. I hit two really good yard sales last weekend and got stocked up on girl stuff. I feel very prepared already. I think i am trying to get everything down as soon as i can knowing what happened last time!

I guess I can also tell you the names we have picked out for the babies as of now. Kyler learned them so they are no longer a secret!! But it is so cute to hear him call them by name. He likes the names and will just giggle when he says them. We will be having Rylee Mae and Wyatt Grant.

According to the book I have on twins they should both be about a pound each. I will find out for sure how they size up Wednesday. Plus they are like 10 1/2 inches long. that is hard to believe. However i feel them move all day long and would say they are about 2 foot long from they way they kick. I even felt one the other day kick up high and hit their head down low. It was kind of funny. If they are still on the same sides it was Wyatt.

Well better get off here and finish supper. Got a pork roast in the oven...YUM!

I will try to post some more after Wednesday's appointment.

Dr Appoitment

Hello All... I know I know... i really need to update more. But I get so busy. But we did have a DR appointment yesterday so I thought I would post about that.

I am 15 1/2 weeks now and we got to do a ultrasound. It was just the little one they have in the Dr office so no real measurements to note other then they said they both look great. The first one we looked at we seen the face and "it" was moving it's little mouth... so cute and life like! They didn't seem to be as active as the past few times we have seen them but they were both moving around. She said it is a little early to feel them still but i may be starting to... and i think i might have felt a few little things a couple times? I ask when we would be able to find out the gender but she said probably at our next appointment. I have my next appointment on Monday May 24th an will be 18 weeks at that point. We will do a higher level ultrasound at that appointment to check them out head to toe. Hopefully they will cooperate and not be to shy to show us what they are. If they don't cooperate I will have another higher level ultrasound 3 weeks later so we will have a second chance.

As for me I am doing good also. She said the top of my uterus is about belly button high..even though i feel like it is already up to my chest. I feel short of breath easily and my upper abdomen seems to be growing and getting as hard as my lower. But I guess when the uterus grows up it pushes everything out of it's way. She also mentioned that if i was only carrying one baby i would be equivalent to about 20 weeks... so that gives me an indication of how big i will really get... WAY BIG! The big question I had for them was how much weigh I have gained... but i was shocked to find out i actually lost .2 lbs since last appointment and am only up 1.5 lbs from the first appointment... i can handle that since I know that patter will NOT continue much longer. I told her my appetite was not a problem at all and blamed the slight decrease in weight on the nurse last time. She made me weigh in before she let me go to the bathroom!

My blood pressure was really good... i think it was like 117/75 ish? I was happy with that since I have been eating the crap out of roman noodles... don't look at the label on those things...especially the sodium! But she said there is not reason for me to limit my sodium or be concerned with how much i take in since my blood pressure is fine.

The only other big question I had for her was the pain i have been experiencing in my hips. Especially in the evenings or when i get out of bed. It is like my hip joins just shoot pain. I figured it is because they are spreading or something or just the weight of the babies and i was correct. She said unfortunately there isn't much to do about it and it probably won't get any better! GREAT! She did recommend a support belt so I am hoping to find me one of those... just to help support some of the weight of my belly when it starts sticking out more.

Well I guess that is about it for the dr appointment. Kyler has been doing really good. He is so funny. I laugh at him every day. The other day he had my cell phone and was playing with it. I told him to bring it to me and he said..."I'm checking my email mom!" He don't even know what email is! I am also very impressed and proud of his learning. He has a little computer with some alphabet and letter games on it. There one game he likes to play all the time will say..can you find the letter B. then it will show a B up on the little screen. I was floored the other night when he could find almost all of the letters. And if he messed up i can see why he picked the letter he did... like it ask for L and he picked J. They look alike just backwards? Then it ask for a K and he picked an X. Didn't realize how similar those letters really are! SO he is doing very good with that. He also still says we are having one boy and one girl so i am anxious to see if he is right since he predicted twins!

Going to Kirksville this weekend. Going in with some of my aunts to have a HUGH garage sale. I have most all my stuff priced, boxed and ready... just got to see how much of it i can cram in my van tonight! I hope to get rid of most of it so we have more room for double the baby stuff. I also hope to get rid of most of it so I make a little $$. I told Sheldon what I make is going into our dishwasher fund!! That is one thing Mommy needs before the babies come!

Well better get off here and get some stuff done... until next time...TATA!

Pictures!!!

Now these are kind of hard to see at first...but if you can make it out you will for sure be able to tell what things are.

First is baby B. The top of Baby B's head is on the left side. Baby is laying on back looking up towards the top right corner of the picture. The more white areas in the very center of the picture is the facial features. Then you can see "it's" little hand up on it's for head. Man I hate referring to them at IT! Then you can see the whiter oval shape that is more at the bottom right... that is the top of the body.

This is baby A. The top of Baby A's head is on the right side, looking up towards the top left corner of the picture. There are some more shades of white in the center again that is the facial features. Baby A also being dramatic like baby B has it's hand up on it's for head as well.
Then this is a top shot looking down at the babies. You can only see the tops of each of their heads on this picture. This picture makes them look so much smaller!

I will be 13 weeks tomorrow. According to babycenter.com at 13 weeks they will be about 3 inches from head to rump or approximately the side of a medium shrimp... i don't know about you but i think a 3 inch ship would be considered JUMBO!

1st trimester screening

So we went back to KC today for our 1st trimester screening. Everything looked OK although the little gummy bears in my belly were acting up! There are two parts to this test like I had mentioned before. One being the ultrasound. Well the explained how this is a very difficult measurement to get and with twins it is twice as hard! The babies have to be in just the right position for them to get this measurement. We worked and worked with them trying to get them to move the way we wanted. The ultrasound tech did get some measurements and took them to the Dr (DR LU...the one who delivered Kyler) He came in and explained to us that the measurements they got were well with in the guidelines for normal but they were just not comfortable that these measurements were as accurate as they would like. He said they are very confident that the measurements are not larger(a good thing) but they could be smaller. He didn't want them to play a factor in the equation in case it would cause it to be off and cause us more worry later on. So after all that messing around we did get to see our babies jumping around like always. I think one of them was dancing! The ultrasound tech also said they seem to be very dramatic as BOTH of them posed with their little hand on their forehead. So we got three pictures out of the deal to. One of each of them in their little pose with their hand on their forehead. Then one where you can see both of their heads. They did also confirm like the first ultrasound that they are in two sacks and have two placentas. She said that on is implanted on the front of my uterus and the other on the back. They both were very close to the same size and still right where they should be for my gestation. Baby A's heart rate was 167(same as last time) and baby B's was 160.

After the ultrasound we just had to do the blood work. This test will be based sole on the blood work now. They first told us we would get a phone call on Monday with the results. But I am going to have to call her tomorrow to clarify because i also think i remember her saying that if they ultrasound did not show the measurements we would do the blood work today and again in about a month(2nd trimester screening). Then for those who don't have ultrasound measurements we would not get any results till after our second blood work. So we will see.

We will just cross our fingers and hope and pray everything comes out just fine!

Hopefully pictures to come tomorrow.

Dr appointment

I decided for my own good and for all my followers I need to try to keep up with this blog with Dr appointment info and day to day happenings with the newest additions to our family.

I had a dr appointment last Friday 4/9/10. Saturday I was 12 weeks so I was very excited for this appointment. Get to see them again and know everything was OK. And everything looked just fine. My sister went with me since I was going to stay the night in KC so Sheldon didn't come down with me . I wish he would have been there because the ultrasound was way better as they are getting bigger and really looked like babies now. They were jumping all around! The ultrasound machine they used was just a little portable one that they had in the exam room. So no measurements or anything... just eye balled it. She said they were very close to the same size, and their bodies were proportionate. At this stage she said their heads are about the same size as their bodies... they look like little gummy bears! They didn't take any pictures but there was a couple good profile shots where we could see their little face, and then one good head on shot of the face which is kind of scary at this point... kind of looks like a skeleton. Then one shot of one of their faces and they had their little arm up by there face...to cute even though they look like aliens!

I have been feeling much better... not 100% yet but getting there. I will be good one day then not so good the next. This morning I was kind of gaggy but got over that pretty quick. So that is a good thing.

We will actually get to see the little gummy bears again Wednesday! We decided to do the 1st trimester screening for chromosomal abnormalities. The dr said it is a non evasive test so there is not risk and it just gives them a better idea if they need to look for any abnormalities or do any further testing. It is a pretty routine test that a lot of people do and it is just an optional test to do. The only thing that made me question doing it is there is a chance of them telling us there is something wrong when there really isn't. But if that is the case they will just do more test and try to determine if there truly is a problem or if it comes back OK then that is just one more thing not to worry about. I guess though really this "screening" don't tell you if there is or is not something wrong... it just tells you if there is a higher risk of something? Like if you have a 1 in 40 chance or a 1 in 4,000 chance. So even if it comes back with a 1 in 40 chance... odds are (39 out of 40) everything is still OK. To do this test they will do blood work and then we will have another ultrasound. With the ultrasound they will measure the back of the babies necks. Then the blood work test and ultrasound results is all put in some equation to calculate the likely hood of a defect.

So say a little prayer for us on Wednesday and i will keep you posted on how that goes... might even have some pictures to post after this ultrasound!

On another note TODAY is Kyler's 3rd Birthday!!! I can' t believe it! We had a party for him in KV over Easter weekend but will have Sheldon's family over for supper and cupcakes and maybe ice cream tonight. I hope to get some Birthday pictures on here soon to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLER!!

BIG NEWS!

Well i have decided to post our BIG BIG news on our blog today. If you can't make it out in the pictures about i hope you at least can tell we are expecting... but if you look closer and cout'em you will see TWO BABIES(as Kyler puts it). That is 20 fingers and 20 toes!

We took a test on Valentines day and discovered we were pregnant... but had to wait till march 11th for our first visit. We decided even before we got pregnant that we wanted to Dr again at St Luke's in KC. That is where Kyler was born and i love it down there. We felt it was the best choice...if they would have us that is. It is a hour and 45 minute drive but well worth it if you ask me.

We we went in for our fist appointment and had already been told we would have an ultrasound so i was pumped about that. First off she told me my bladder was REALLY full... um didn't have to tell me i was about to pee my pants. Then she was like so is this your first ultrasound...instantly my heart sunk thinking what does she see that is wrong...but then she went on and ask us what we would think of 2! I looked at Sheldon who was grinning from ear to eat! Then I said... i would think we have a psychic 3 year old! Even before we were pregnant if we would ask Kyler if he wanted a boy baby or a girl baby he would ALWAYS EVERY TIME stick his little finger up and say... one, two babies mommy! Kind of freaky if you think about it... so two babies to him was no new news!

We then met with the dr who is actually a perinatologist, high risk specialist. They are a group of dr's. Three of them. One delivered Kyler, one i had seen while i was in the hospital, and this was the third and finally one that we had not yet met... and not to any surprise we really liked him as much as the others.

With Kyler i had preecampsia. No one knows for sure what causes preecamplis nor is there anything to prevent it. So he said nothing says I will 100% get it next time...HOWEVER... with twins that also increases your risk. The experts think that preeclampsia has something to do with the placenta and how it implants... there for i have a double whammy since i have two placentas this go around. yes... they said from what they can see as of right now each baby has its own sack and own placenta... most likely they are not identical but he said even identical twins can have their own sack and placenta. The only way we will know for sure prior to birth is if the sex turns out to be one boy and one girl. So anyway... back to my story about preeclampsia... so basically they don't know if i will or wont get it, there is nothing to do to prevent from getting it, we will just have to monitor closely and deal with it if it happens.

So we are very excited and just hoping all goes well. Right now I am just hoping and praying to get to 12 weeks when i will fell better. I haven't been to bad other then eating myself out of house and home! I am now 9 1/2 weeks along... long ways to go...hopefully! I don't go to the dr again until April 9th... that seems way to far away! He was going to have me come back in 3 weeks instead of 4 but i have to go to KC on the 9th anyway so i thought i could hold off one more week...now i am so anxious to go i wish i would have kept the 3 week appointment. So i figure i will go back about every 3 weeks for now. I have calculated that if I go back in three weeks after my next appointment and then 3 weeks after that I will be right at 18 weeks(end of May). He said i will have a ultrasound each visits but probably just with a little portable one they pull in the room... then we will have the other high tech(like we had last time) around 18 weeks to do all the measurements and make sure all is going well... this is when i hope to find out what we are having!

Well that's about all i got right now. We will for sure keep you posted and updated with all dr visits.

Funny boy!

Childhood incocents cracks me up. I have a few pictuers I wanted to post and one really funny story.

The other night Sheldon being awesome husband that he is was doing laundry and Kyler was "helping". Kylers job is to pull the clothes out and give them to sheldon to fold. Well he reached in and pulled out one of my bras. He looked at me so serious and said "mommy...your boob pants"! I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants. He laughed too and i must have laughed so hard it make him think he said something wrong because when i ask him later what it was called he would not say it anymore. But it was too cute! I had never thought of it like that!

For Christmas he got his own shaving cream and razor to shave just like daddy! When Sheldon saves Kyler will look in the sink and say...Daddy your beard is in the sink!

Then the other day I got a Mary Kay order from my mom and they always ship it in a box that is 10 times bigger and added a ton of thoes packing peanuts. Well this is the mess I came home to the next day!!!

I have a busy rest of the week planned out. My Uncle Art passed away Monday morning. His visitation is Friday in Kirksville. So Kyler and I am heading over Thursday afternoon. My mom and sister are also coming up for the funeral and will be in Thursday afternoon. I have the visitation Friday evening and then we have to head back to Maryville. I have my BIG Close to my Heart scrapbooking Open House Saturday from 1-3pm. Everyone is welcome! It is at the Maryville Community Center...i have lots of neat treats planned for everyone!
Well hope I can get some more funny pictures and stories rounded up and post again real soon!
But TaTa for now!

couple pictures

Its been a while since i posted so I thought I better get a few pictures on here. We haven't don't anything real eventful so these are just a couple random shots.

This is Kyler about Midnight on new years eve. He didn't want to wear his party favor so I just put it on his belly for the picture.
Kyler got a tent for Christmas... it is still up and in our dinning room. It has a nice little pop out tunnel that he gets out from time to time. He actually just got it out again tonight. When we first set it up he put his little DVD player in there and was watching a movie! I don't know what happened in the tent but now that silly thing will play a DVD just fine if you don't have to push any buttons. NONE of the buttons work? I don't know what the deal is. And there are very fue DVD's that you don't have to push plan! I have been looking at some Mini Vans... yes I will be a mini van mom! I am hoping to find one with a DVD player in it so we won't have to purchase another portable DVD player.
Not much else going on. We had a nice relaxing weekend. Saturday morning Sheldon and Kyler hung out while I went and did my first ever Close to my Heart Scrapbooking party. I just recently signed up and am not a Close to my Heart consultant. So if anyone out there is in to scrapbooking, card making, or any paper crafts I would love to show you the sweet stuff CTMH has to offer!! My first show was a success. I am having an open house on Feburary 13th that I am not focused on planning. Anyone wants to come let me know and I will give you the details. After I was done with that Saturday I had to go pick Kyler up at the university because Sheldon had to work that Basket ball game. We stayed long enough for Kyler to see Bobby. He loves to see him...as long as it is from a distance! He is kind of a scardy cat! Before heading to the game Sheldon took him by Jocks Nitch to get a new Bearcat tshirt as he has out grown his two he has. Sheldon said when they were picking them out he told him..."daddy I don't need it, I have a bunch of shirts at home." He has probably heard Sheldon tell me that when we are shopping...He don't need that he has a bunch at home! I thought that was funny.
Well better get off her and pick up the house a bit before bed time. Kyler is in the shower and we have rented a movie to watch. I guess I should say Sheldon rented a movie to watch because I will probably just fall asleep when we start it!
GOODNIGHT!
