Pictures!!!

Now these are kind of hard to see at first...but if you can make it out you will for sure be able to tell what things are.

First is baby B. The top of Baby B's head is on the left side. Baby is laying on back looking up towards the top right corner of the picture. The more white areas in the very center of the picture is the facial features. Then you can see "it's" little hand up on it's for head. Man I hate referring to them at IT! Then you can see the whiter oval shape that is more at the bottom right... that is the top of the body.

This is baby A. The top of Baby A's head is on the right side, looking up towards the top left corner of the picture. There are some more shades of white in the center again that is the facial features. Baby A also being dramatic like baby B has it's hand up on it's for head as well.
Then this is a top shot looking down at the babies. You can only see the tops of each of their heads on this picture. This picture makes them look so much smaller!

I will be 13 weeks tomorrow. According to babycenter.com at 13 weeks they will be about 3 inches from head to rump or approximately the side of a medium shrimp... i don't know about you but i think a 3 inch ship would be considered JUMBO!

1st trimester screening

So we went back to KC today for our 1st trimester screening. Everything looked OK although the little gummy bears in my belly were acting up! There are two parts to this test like I had mentioned before. One being the ultrasound. Well the explained how this is a very difficult measurement to get and with twins it is twice as hard! The babies have to be in just the right position for them to get this measurement. We worked and worked with them trying to get them to move the way we wanted. The ultrasound tech did get some measurements and took them to the Dr (DR LU...the one who delivered Kyler) He came in and explained to us that the measurements they got were well with in the guidelines for normal but they were just not comfortable that these measurements were as accurate as they would like. He said they are very confident that the measurements are not larger(a good thing) but they could be smaller. He didn't want them to play a factor in the equation in case it would cause it to be off and cause us more worry later on. So after all that messing around we did get to see our babies jumping around like always. I think one of them was dancing! The ultrasound tech also said they seem to be very dramatic as BOTH of them posed with their little hand on their forehead. So we got three pictures out of the deal to. One of each of them in their little pose with their hand on their forehead. Then one where you can see both of their heads. They did also confirm like the first ultrasound that they are in two sacks and have two placentas. She said that on is implanted on the front of my uterus and the other on the back. They both were very close to the same size and still right where they should be for my gestation. Baby A's heart rate was 167(same as last time) and baby B's was 160.

After the ultrasound we just had to do the blood work. This test will be based sole on the blood work now. They first told us we would get a phone call on Monday with the results. But I am going to have to call her tomorrow to clarify because i also think i remember her saying that if they ultrasound did not show the measurements we would do the blood work today and again in about a month(2nd trimester screening). Then for those who don't have ultrasound measurements we would not get any results till after our second blood work. So we will see.

We will just cross our fingers and hope and pray everything comes out just fine!

Hopefully pictures to come tomorrow.

Dr appointment

I decided for my own good and for all my followers I need to try to keep up with this blog with Dr appointment info and day to day happenings with the newest additions to our family.

I had a dr appointment last Friday 4/9/10. Saturday I was 12 weeks so I was very excited for this appointment. Get to see them again and know everything was OK. And everything looked just fine. My sister went with me since I was going to stay the night in KC so Sheldon didn't come down with me . I wish he would have been there because the ultrasound was way better as they are getting bigger and really looked like babies now. They were jumping all around! The ultrasound machine they used was just a little portable one that they had in the exam room. So no measurements or anything... just eye balled it. She said they were very close to the same size, and their bodies were proportionate. At this stage she said their heads are about the same size as their bodies... they look like little gummy bears! They didn't take any pictures but there was a couple good profile shots where we could see their little face, and then one good head on shot of the face which is kind of scary at this point... kind of looks like a skeleton. Then one shot of one of their faces and they had their little arm up by there face...to cute even though they look like aliens!

I have been feeling much better... not 100% yet but getting there. I will be good one day then not so good the next. This morning I was kind of gaggy but got over that pretty quick. So that is a good thing.

We will actually get to see the little gummy bears again Wednesday! We decided to do the 1st trimester screening for chromosomal abnormalities. The dr said it is a non evasive test so there is not risk and it just gives them a better idea if they need to look for any abnormalities or do any further testing. It is a pretty routine test that a lot of people do and it is just an optional test to do. The only thing that made me question doing it is there is a chance of them telling us there is something wrong when there really isn't. But if that is the case they will just do more test and try to determine if there truly is a problem or if it comes back OK then that is just one more thing not to worry about. I guess though really this "screening" don't tell you if there is or is not something wrong... it just tells you if there is a higher risk of something? Like if you have a 1 in 40 chance or a 1 in 4,000 chance. So even if it comes back with a 1 in 40 chance... odds are (39 out of 40) everything is still OK. To do this test they will do blood work and then we will have another ultrasound. With the ultrasound they will measure the back of the babies necks. Then the blood work test and ultrasound results is all put in some equation to calculate the likely hood of a defect.

So say a little prayer for us on Wednesday and i will keep you posted on how that goes... might even have some pictures to post after this ultrasound!

On another note TODAY is Kyler's 3rd Birthday!!! I can' t believe it! We had a party for him in KV over Easter weekend but will have Sheldon's family over for supper and cupcakes and maybe ice cream tonight. I hope to get some Birthday pictures on here soon to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLER!!
