Easter

So the Easter Bunny came at my dad's house Easter Morning. Kyler slept in the front bedroom while Sheldon and I and the babies slept in the back bed room. I heard Kyler yell for me about 7am... we had been up since about 6 with the babies. So i went in there. I said do you think the Easter Bunny came to see you? He said YES... i said how do you know. He said i snuck in there and seen the eggs. Too funny

He got lots of fun stuff in his basket including monkey rubber boats, season box set of the Flintsones, bulldozer paint kit, tooth brush and tooth paste, bubbles, a couple little puzzels, a few baby cans of orange pop, and a bunch of candy!

The twins each had a few of the starter finger snacks for babies, sun glasses, sun hats, sippy cups, a plastic bathtime book, and a few other little things. Even though they probably didn't know what they were doing they had fun tearing into their baskets and pulling it all out! It was cute.

Here they are in their cute Easter outfits. I did not get any good pictures of Kyler becuase he will not cooperate with pictures some times. I have found it best to not even force him to, because the pictures dont turn out anyway when he don't want you to take them. He also would not take his jacket off when we were at Aunt Lyn's for dinner... come to find out it was becuase he had dribbles chocolate milk down his pretty white easter shirt!!! BOYS!

Kylers Birthday Party

I have some more to do to catch you up today on our life with the twins, but i could not resist getting these new pictures on here. We went to Kirksville this weekend for Easter and had Kyler's birthday party with my family over there also.

We did a Mario Kart party and he had a blast. He got some great toys and had a hard time deciding which one to play first!
Grandma Nancy made his cake and it looked awesome!!!

I am really getting into this party planning and have actually started a party planning business with a girl here at work. You can check out our blog we started for it(still in the works) http://www.the2lollipopgirls.blogspot.com/ So I had fun planning his party needless to say.

Continued...

Ok... back for day two... I'm doing good!

So at the end of yesterday post i left off when the babies were born and we were back in recovery. We were there for an hour or so... i don't really remember. Then they moved me to my room. The C section was a breeze as I always stated was my first. Dr Lu does good work. While in the c-section i had the weirdest pains in my shoulders... they kind of chalked it up to needing to relax my shoulders but it was strange. Afterwards i of course had some of the shakes form the spinal and was very nauseous... i didn't have that with Kyler i don't think . The next day i had to get up and walk and all that jazz... it was no walk in the park but not as bad as anyone would expect after being cut open. My chest was a little soar and they said that was due to the dr pushing so hard... and that they did... as one time i thought his elbow as going to come through that curtain! But I recouped and was up in no time. By day 3 or so i was walking all the way down to the cafetiere! Can't keep this girl away from food! The cafeteria borough back lots of memories of my days there with Kyler. I would walk down there and set and eat just to get a few minuets out of the NICU!

Here was our first actual picture of both of the twins together on day 2. Looking back you can't really tell that Rylee had much more hair then Wyatt... of course hers kept growing and his thinned out and today they are complete opposites when it comes to hair. Rylee still have tons of dark dark hair, and Wyatt just has a little light brown hair.

Then we loaded up for our journey home:

Here was Rylee when we got home:

When we got home Dad and Nancy were there and Sheldon's mom had brought Kyler over and made us lunch. Then the circus began! We did really good. Kyler stayed with Sheldon's mom the first night as we was not sure what to expect. I was still nursing and that was a challenge let me tell ya! They wanted to 24-7 and I was no Holstein! We kept it up for about another week and decided 1 my boobs could not take it any more and 2 they were not getting enough to eat according to their weights! But no worries... they loved their bottles!

We spend the next week or so sleeping in the living room... me, Sheldon and the babies. We were up about every 3 hours to feed and this just made it easier. We then moved them upstairs in their cribs. We have two cribs and planned to not put them together to get use to it... plus the SID's hazard we thought it would be best. But let me tell ya... you soon learn what you plan goes out the window must of the time. At about a month or a little over they kind of got a cold and slept better in a incline so we started sleeping downstairs again in their swings and bouncy seats. this continued for a couple weeks, then we had a Kirksville trip. They were sleeping so good in their swings that we decided to continue until we got home from that. They were to the point where they would for the most part sleep all night in their swings! It was hard to decided to go back to the crib with that going on! But I knew it would be best and the longer we waited the harder it might be. By this time though we were in hard core winter. Our house is old and the heat is just on the main floor. In the upstairs we just have baseboard heaters in each of the 3 bedrooms. SO to help on the heat bill we decided to close off the stairway and try not to heat but just the downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs as needed. So we pulled one of the two cribs downstairs in the spare room. Sheldon loves to sleep on the couch anyway so he sleeps on the couch while the babies share the one crib and i sleep in the bed in the spare room. So we transitioned them into that crib and the rest is history as 6 months later this is still our sleeping arrangements. Kyler took over our bed in our bedroom upstairs as there is a TV in there and he likes to watch a Cartoon each night before bed. But this helped tremendously over the winter only heating one bed room upstairs and being close to the kitchen for making bottles in the middle of the night.

The twins do really well in the same crib even through i am very on edge about their blankets and stuff getting up by their face! Any more then move around so much that it don't matter where you put them they get to the other side of the bed. One will be kicking the other in the head? Or hitting them with there swinging arms! It is also kind of funny because if you lay them beside each other or set them beside each other they always try to hold hands... it super cute. Anyway... today they are still in the same crib and sleep pretty good. It seems like one will wake up each night... never the same one. The night before last Rylee woke up at 4 and then Wyatt made it till 5:30, but last night Wyatt woke up about 4 and Rylee make it till 5:30. So doing pretty good there.

Ok.... I think i will end this post there and will have a few more to fill in the blanks between all that. See ya soon!!!

I'm back... or so i say!

Ok... it has been forever and a day since I last posted. I have not posted since the twins were born... and they are 6 months old now! I really want to try to keep up on this because you thought my memory and mind was bad with one kid... you should see me now! I want to be able to keep track of funny, cute stories of the kids and mark milestones on here. So I'M BACK!

I have a lot to catch up on! On Oct 5th, 2011 I delivered our twins Wyatt Grant and Rylee Mae. It was a scheduled C-Section. We were on the schedule for 10am which was perfect time because that meant we had to be there at 8am... leave the house around 6am. They were delivered at St Luke's downtown Kansas City... same place as Kyler. And we even scheduled it so we had the same Dr to do the c section. I LOVE DR LU!! We got down there and got in our room, which was the "recovery" room that I would be returning to after the babies were born. I got in my gown and got all hooked up to the monitors.
Then the waiting game began. Its not really fun to be setting in a small room thinking about what is about to happen in just a couple hours! But here came Dr Lu and proposed we get on the horn and go early! I was all for it. So it looked like we might get to deliver more like 9am instead. I guess he had another mother in there trying to deliver twins naturally and he thought maybe he could get me in and out before she got too far into it. Well that was his hopes but it didn't turn out that way. Her babies started showing signs of distress so low and behold she got my spot in the OR and we were on the back burner. But that was fine... our babies were just fine and dandy where they were so that was a good thing. I was thankful my Aunt had made it down and that they actually let them all 3 back in the room with us to help pass the time as we did not go in until like 1:30pm or so! Needless to say I was starving! The other crazy thing was had I not been on the schedule that day I think they babies had made up their minds that they wanted their birthday to be 10-5-10 one way or another. With all the waiting(and maybe due to a little stress on mama) the contractions started and did not not let up! They actually got to a pretty regular pattern of about every 10 min and were actually starting to be fairly uncomfortable!

So Wyatt Grant(baby A) was born first then Rylee Mae just before 2pm. See... I am so glad I am doing this because I can't even remember what times they were... AND THAT IS NOT ME! I can still tell you Kyler was born at 10:56pm... but something 6 months ago... poof... gone! So anyway... Wyatt was born then Rylee. Wyatt weighed 5lb 13oz and Rylee weighed 5lb 11oz. They took them over to their little beds and checked them out. Both were doing great. The nurses checked them out, swaddled them up and handed both to Sheldon. He brought them over to me and we looked them over and all... then he was like my arms are getting tired. I told him to go give one back to the nurse... THEY WERE GONE! So he just kept them both while they finished up my c section. It was kind of strange and foreign to us after our experience with Kyler! I still think we have more people in the OR with Kyler then we did with two babies this time! But i guess that is to be expected in that situation.

Then we were off to our room for recovery..

To be continued...
