Kansas City Zoo

Last weekend Sheldon had a golf tournament so Kyler and I went down to KC to see Rachel. It was just a last minute thing but we decided to go check out the zoo. It was really nice and Kyler loved it. We are going to the Omaha Zoo next Friday. Kyler can't wait.

Take a bite out of crime

Well all has been well. Nothing much new to share. We are still fighting our way through temper tantrums from time to time and his new favorite mean of defence... biting. He was very irritable last night and spent his share of time on the knotty step. He was pretty good over the weekend for the most part though.

We had a bar b q to go to Saturday night and he played pretty good with all the kids there. We didn't even get home till about 1:30 am. The guys were down stairs and claim the clock was wrong and they didn't know it was that late!!! Nice excuse.

Then we had a pretty relaxing Mother's Day. Sheldon fixed me french toast... or tried anyway. he is an excellent french toast cook but fist our power went out then we ran out of syrup... bummer. Then we headed to town to get some stuff. We pulled an old bush out by our back porch and needed something to go there. So for Mother's day I said I wanted a dwarf lilac bush. So that is what I got. So we got that and some flower and worked outside most of the afternoon.

Sheldon starts softball this week so one more thing to make the weeks busier. He pays Tue and Thur but this week both games are at 9:00 pm. So needless to say we won't make it to these games. I think Kyler will really enjoy going through.

Well I don't have any pictures this time... my battery's ran down in my camera and I just got some more yesterday. So maybe this weekend I will catch a few more pictures.

Swingy, Swingy

Kyler has been keeping me on my toes. He has defiantly hit the terrible 2's!! It gets really bad when he gets tired. So about 7:00pm each night it is fit time. If you don't give him what he wants to do what he wants you to he has learned to throw a full blown fit!! He will throw himself down on the floor kicking and screaming, hit anything in site even you if you get in his way. The other night he was setting on the counter in the kitchen and started to throw a fit and hit his head on the window and kicked over my full glass of ice water. So on the knotty step he goes!! Now I will say last night he was a little angel!!!

He has been talking so much more. He will put two, three or even four words together. And the words that come out of his mouth make me laugh. Last night we were outside and he seen a birdie. He said "pet turkey?" Then he corrected himself and said "pet birdie?"

Kyler is really into Dora right now. So i found him a Dora DVD at a yard sale Saturday. We watched it Sunday morning and there as a party where you were suppose to get up and march. I was showing him how to do it but he just set there and looked at me like I was crazy. Well last night he was on the floor with Sheldon playing and he stood up and said "daddy march!" as he proceeded to high step in place. I about fell over. How did he remember that? He is growing up so fast!

Well we finally got the swing set together. We worked on it for a few hours last weekend and didn't get very far. So Saturday we got most of it up. We got it standing Saturday afternoon while Kyler was taking his nap. He woke up and looked out the window and all excited said, "daddy fix it, daddy fix it. " I was so proud of his Daddy for getting it put up.

Sheldon went outside one evening after it had rained and found Kyler a worm. He didn't really know what to think of it. He would never hold it.

Now for some swinging pictures... He even put on his "flopsies" so he calls them.

Here is a picture of the whole swing set after we got it together. The only thing you can't see is it has a little picnic table on the back. We sat at it last night and ate ice cream sandwiches... He loves those thing. They are the cause of half of his fits. He thinks he should be able to have one first thing in the morning when he wakes up sometimes... I'm such a mean mom!!!

And last but not least... a short video of going UP the slide last night. he is such a little monkey!!!

i know, i know...

I really need to do better job of keeping up with this... but where does the time go? I did want to just say hello. Kyler also had his 2 year well child check up yesterday. He is doing great they said. He only weighted 21 lbs 15 oz. Dr said he was not concerned because 1 he is still growing and following his own growth curve just fine and 2. He is still good on his height. He said if he was not getting enough to eat or such he would not be growing taller. So that was good.

Kyler is saying more and more every day. He is about to that point where he will at least try to say anything you ask him to say. And putting two and three words together. When we were pulling in to the dr appointment yesterday he pointed to the hospital. I told him that is where you go is you are really sick or have bad owie( I dont have any idea how to spell that!!). I said that is where the Dr are and they will fix you. He said Dr fix you? Then I said yes if you have an owie. He pointed to his knee and said owie!

well I hope to get a little more on here this weekend but you know how that goes. We are in KC tonight hopeing to hit up some good deals in Leavenworth, KS in the morning. We also picked up a new swing set at Toys R Us so that will be a job to get put together... but Kyler will be so excited!!

Birthday party #2

We had birthday party number #2 on his birthday Monday at home with Sheldon's family. I made the cutest ice cream cone cupcakes. I was so pleased at how they turned out. Kyler loves Ice Cream Cones... no ice cream just the cone. So I thought these would be perfect.

And he loved blowing out the candles again...

He got two cards that played music... they were a hit!

Aunt Mindy, Uncle Sonny, and Cousin Kobly got him his first pair of roller skates... he wanted to put them on right way. He obviously gets his skating ability form his dad and needed lots of help. Especially in the kitchen. After being in the kitchen he did brave it and went a little ways in the living room on the carpet by himself.

Easter Morning...

So Kyler didn't sleep well Saturday night and was not to chipper that morning. He seen all the eggs but I think was a little over welmed. Just like the Easter Egg hunt he got one and wanted to eat the candy...

Here he is with his chap stick... he loves playing with that stuff.

The Easter bunny brought this cute little sponge bob back pack that has wheels and a handle to pull it with... he loves it. He has always been one to want to pull or push what ever it is we do... like my suit case that is big enough for him to get in.

All in All... I think he was pretty tired after his long Easter weekend.

Easter Egg Hunt

Here are a few pictures of Kyler at the big Easter Egg Hung in Kirksville last Saturday. He would get one egg and that's all he was interested in. When we got there they were all scattered in the grass.... that is when he really wanted to get them. But we had to wait till they blew the siren.
